Maurice and a Christmas Carol

A cheerful Christmas story about the owner of a traditional gingerbread shop struggling in a world, where happiness is measured by financial wealth. A warm, humorous musical tale about the power of kindness and good will during the festive season.

Everyone knows that it is worth helping others. Maurice also knows this. Therefore, it surprises him that his good deeds lead him to the brink of bankruptcy and that his daughter grows to like him less and less. Is it thanks to the help of his friends, including the resolute Halina and an ironic, nameless cat, that good-natured Maurice will regain what he lost? If Christmas miracles happen… then who knows?

For this contemporary version of A Christmas Carol, Tomasz Lewandowski has created new arrangements of popular Christmas carols written by Wanda Chotomska, with music composed by Teresa Niewiarowska. Ten songs are interspersed within a story full of festive warmth about a good old-fashioned gingerbread shop.
